So, on saturday I went to my brother's 40th birthday party. It was 80s-themed fancy dress (his midlife crisis party, as he put it).
80s icons of music, film, tv or sport was the brief, so we had a number of Madonnas, Top Guns, Ghostbusters and assorted new romantics, plus one John McEnroe and one Milk Tray Ninja. Carl was one of two Adam Ants, and I went as Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top. (Thanks to
gipsy_dreamer for that idea.)
The hat, white scarf and beard came from a costume shop (the beard was a Comic Relief red beard reduced to clear for £1, which I then spraypainted brown); the white silk tie was a lucky find in Debenhams' sale; all the rest was my own. Very much a thrown together affair, but when I walked in complete with guitar it certainly, um... made an impression. :-)
Homemade Eliminator key fob; silvered cardboard glued together and lined to make a passable replica.
Me and Carl. Yep, that's my little brother...
