Holy Shit Awesome

So last night was by far one of the coolest night ever.  I went to the Deftones/ Dir en Grey show here in Seattle.  Fortunately I got hooked up with a free ticket and also a backstage pass.  Watched a band called Fall of Troy from backstage and they were pretty cool.  Apparently a local Seattle band but they were good.  Next up came Dir en Grey.  I think that most the crowd for the show were here for them and they went nuts.  It's funny not seeing them in their visual kei stuff.  It actually took me a moment to recognize who was who in the band.  Standing back stage less than five feet from them before they go on was pretty electrifying.  The performance was more so.

Afterwards I went and hung out with some random people in the dressing room and met some of the guys from Fall of Troy.  All really great guys and I believe they have a myspace as well.  I'll be looking that up later I am sure.  After a bit Dir en Grey came back after their signing.  It was pretty intimidating trying to start up any conversation with them but I ended up talking to Die.  He's really the only one that can speak English aside from their manager.  I talked to him and Matt from 10 Years and also took a shot of Jaegar.  So essentially I got to take a shot with my favorite member of one of my favorite bands.  Rock on.  The only members I didn't get to talk with much was Kaoru.  Kyo and Shinya were painfully shy but seemed pretty happy when I told them they put on a good show and the last time I saw them live was back in 2002 in Osaka.

When I left I talked to Die some more and managed to get a  picture with my phone.  Now I just need to get that shit on my computer.  They were all really cool laid back guys.  I guess it also helped that I didn't freak the fuck out like a crazy fan.  Funny thing though, I didn't even watch the Deftones because I was backstage with Dir en Grey and I didn't want the off chance that I couldn't get back in.  So worth it though.  By far one of the coolest night ever.

So Graham, I guess you don't have to suck it since I didn't see your most favoritest band.
