Public for good reason.

I'd suggest you read this if you have a Myspace.

"They are watching you and it is as bad as you think. The more and more I read, the more I see MySpace as nothing more than a way for the establishment to collect information. Hell they don't even have to look for it anymore, we put it out there for them to see free of charge.

Is it any coincidence that Myspace is owned by Rupert Murdoch, one of the most powerful and conservative media moguls in the world? Look at Murdoch's various holdings and his massive desire for power and wealth and tell me that they're keeping Myspace free out of the goodness of their hearts?

Murdoch's various holdings include The San-Antonio Express, The Star tabloid, and The New York Post in America, as well as ownership of The Times, News of The World, and The Sun in Britain. He owns several newspapers and television stations in Australia. Originally establishing himself in Sydney in the mid-60's, he ended up moving his base of operations to London because his desire for mass-cross-control of the media was hampered by Australia's stringent cross-media ownership laws.

In 1998, he tried to take over "Britain's Superclub" Manchester United but this was stopped by Britain's Monopolies and Merger's Commission. It was at this point that he moved his base to the US where his power and influence has only continued to grow. Although he obtained his first US newspaper in 1973, it wasn't until his move to the US that his power and influence really began to grow. He bought Fox Network in 1995 and launched Fox News Network in 1996, the most blatently conservative news station on television and, consequently, the most widely watched.

In 2003, Murdoch acquired a 34% controlling stake in Hughes Electronics, operator of the largest American Satellite TV system in the US, DirectTV.

In 2005, he bought Intermix Media which held Myspace. com., and most recently he acquired the Turkish TV channel TGRT, thereby expanding his sphere of influence and power into the mid-east.

Additionally, he sits on the boards and steering committees of the most powerful global organizations in the world; The Council On Foreign Relations, The Trilateral Commission, The Royal Institute on International Affairs, and is a regular attendee of the annual Bilderberger conference. His influence on International affairs and Global policy cannot be underestimated. Politically, he is very neo-conservative and has supported the campaigns of Ronald Reagan, Pat Robinson, and George W. Bush.

In 2003, all 175 Murdoch-owned newspapers around the world established editorial support for the US invasion of Iraq.

For someone whose desire for power, wealth, and influence, is so massive, the real question is why is Myspace continually free? Is it because Murdoch is simply being generous to the twenty-something generation that have become addicted to Myspace or is it because it is a way to monitor us? There are increasing reports both in the mainstream media and in the so called 'alternative' media of Police organizations, the FBI, and CIA trolling about myspace and profiling members based on their pages. What better way to monitor the thoughts and activities of citizens than to set up a social network whereby people feel free to plaster their entire lives online for just anyone to see? And if you think setting your profile to private really makes a difference, think again.

If you don't think Big Brother is watching it's time to open up your eyes."
