Ya know...Buttfacemakani had a pretty cool idea on her last post. And since I'm so frickin' broke from paying off my dermotologist bills, I thought it'd be a neat idea for anyone who would want art from me for an LJ paid subscription. (Egads...I realized I have 2 weeks left...hahahahah) Anyhoo.....would anyone be interested? I have to figure out what kind of art ( Read more... )

I play Remus Lupin for an RPG -- hp_dungeons, and I would LOVE to have you do a character portrait of him for me!

What do you think you'd want to charge?

*Tackles* ^3^

Lesse....I was just checking the prices in Lj and I found this:

Paid Account - 12 months ($25.00 USD)
Paid Account - 6 months ($15.00 USD)
Paid Account - 2 months ($5.00 USD)

Since I love drawing for you guys, I guess a full detailed line-art would be $5.00?? (Would that be too much?) And for a colored version, depending on how many figures in there too, would be $15? Gosh...I'm horrible at pricing and I have never done this before. What would you suggest? Name your terms baby. XD

I think you're not asking enough.

When I was doing illustrating, my starting price was $25, for a "finished" (inked line drawing) figure with a simple background, with an additional $5 per figure, and $10 for animals, machines, and/or compled backgrounds like cityscapes.

Since you love the subject matter, you could start it lower, but I really think you shouldn't set your baseline price below $15. Your scribbly little sketches are worth that much, my dear!

How about this proposal from me: I'll pay you $50 for a fully coloured "family portrait" of Remus, Sirius, Harry, and Remus' daughter, Artemisia in dress robes. If you think that's fair, we can talk about details like ages and colours and descriptions, okay?

Oh me dear god. O_O Lol! I had never looked beyond at my drawings with that kind of price suggestion Cluegirl. I'm totally left speechless and floored with your offer. Hell yes I'll take it!! Please send me details and such as size, clothes, layout, whatever you want. XDDD

You got me into a howling squeeing-fest. Thank you so much for helping me out! I seriously appreciate this. Hope I won't disappoint you. It's been a month since I've drawn properly. *Shuffles feet*

Having seen the basic quality of your artwork, my dear, I wouldn't offer that much if I didn't think the outcome was going to be worth it.

Is there a particular e mail adress you'd like me to use for the pic details? Or should I just send it to your livejournal account?

I've got news for you Gwy - your art is worth that or more. I myself have considered asking you to illustrate something for me when it's ready..and I know I wouldn't consider asking for it at less than a fair price. Don't undersell your talent, hon.
