New Song: Mistral Wind

Nov 06, 2014 03:07

Yeah, I told you guys I was writing songs, right? Heh.

Mistral Wind

A cold wind came to town
It brought a song from yesterday
It blew the buildings down
It carried things from far away
It flew into the house we shared
Left the cupboards and the counters bared
And nothing there would ever be the same

It’s a cold wind
North wind
A wind that shakes the spirit
It’s a cruel wind
East wind
It chills your heart to hear it
It’s a sad wind
South wind
A wind that tears the troubles you can’t mend
It screams them out to join the mistral wind

I caught a glimpse of you
You met my eye and turned away
I thought we’d make it through
But you just said you couldn’t stay
I know you didn’t want to go
I couldn’t bear to see it, so
I cried into my hands to hide my shame

(It’s a cold wind…)

A frost fell on my heart
The day that wind first blew around
I watched the turmoil start
I saw it make our world give ground
And somehow knew, from that first gust
This wind would turn our world to dust
And from then on, we played a losing game

(It’s a cold wind…)

The wind won’t stop
It’s cold in here
It froze my heart
It froze my tears
Where did you go
A memory
I do not know
What’s left of me
But you were lost
When that wind came
And in the frost
I write your name

(It’s a cold wind…)
