Summer Days

Hi all! Brief LJ entry to detail my use of the British summertime - both days of it! Saturday I spent the morning in bed, having stayed up till around 3am talking to Lisa. :D Then I grabbed lunch, and headed out to pick up a present for my sister (Katherine - the younger one) who's 23rd birthday was on Sunday. She had decided she wanted a DVD player, so I obviously went to... Tesco! Sometimes Tesco have some good deals on electronics, and the Sandhurst Tesco store is *massive* - for an English shop anyways. Well, Tesco didn't have any particularly stunning deals on DVD players this week, but I did find the Best of Take That CD for just £5. Ooooh. And whilst I was browsing the music and DVD section, their display stereo was playing a best of the 80's DVD which I found myself singing along to, so in the end I caved and bought that too. Advertising & Sales People 3758 - Graham 0.

In the end I got a DVD player (and SCART lead, sold separately) from Argos. Then in the evening I went to a pub in Wokingham for drinks with Chi and Phil, and then we went for a curry. I had a Chicken Balti, which was pretty tasty, although not as spicy as I might have hoped. I'll have to try something different next time.

Sunday I spent the morning in bed, for the same reasons as Saturday. What can I say - you know it's love when conversation becomes more important than sleep!! For lunch Katherine had chosen this little gastro-pub to go to for her celebration, and she'd invited along her current boyfriend Dave. I, of course, have issues with Dave but that's a whole other LJ entry. :P The food was good, and I enjoyed myself, although I'd rather have been sitting outside than in the stuffy main area with inadequate air-con. Oh well.

After lunch we got home *just in time* to watch the Charity/Community Shield. Yes, I can't even remember which it is these days, but you know what I mean - that football match that starts the season, where the two best teams from last season play each other. And yes, Man Utd beat Chelsea, so I was very pleased with that. :D I wasted the rest of the afternoon and the early evening playing World of Warcraft - yes, I'm an addict. Sorry!

And now it's Monday and I'm quite clearly procrastinating over starting work for the week. Yay! And all that remains to be said is Happy Birthday scoobygang63! Now I will go do something productive. Honest...
