Caprica - Season 1.

- Amanda and Daniel Graystone should NEVER BE APART. Together, they are AWESOMENESS and CRAZINESS x 1000000000. And I guess that's why they made Amanda a plastic surgeon specifically - so that she could play a part in the development of the "skin-jobs".

- LACY/ODIN OTP!! Everything about these two really appeals to me: the physical disparity between their respective heights; Odin's soft-spoken opacity next to Lacy's habit of revealing her every emotion; the idea that he started out clearly not having much belief in any God/gods, but instinctively has faith in her. There's a bit of Kara/Sam in the pairing, and I wish Caprica had gotten a second season, if only so I could see more of that relationship, the Holy Mother and the Non-believer. It's like something out of Dune.

I've watched 1x17 twice now, concentrating on the scenes where Odin "betrays" Lacy, Peter-like, by denying any loyalty to her to the STO leaders. On first viewing, my impression was that Odin was genuinely trying to avoid getting involved in any trouble, and that he only underwent a change of heart when he had the gun to Lacy's head and realised that he couldn't pull the trigger. But the second time I watched it, I was convinced that it was a fake-out from the start, that he went to the STO leaders to: (a) get confirmation of his suspicion that they wanted Lacy dead, and (b) to gain control over the situation by volunteering himself and thus putting himself in a position where they would tell him their plans. The fact that the other recruits were already lying in wait, ready to shoot Diego and Reikle when they drew their guns, means that Odin must have told them what he was going to do and where he was going to be; only Lacy was kept in the dark (maybe Odin didn't trust her acting abilities).

Any character who shows that much forethought, agency, and talent at manipulation, definitely intrigues me. Love also that Odin is (was?) an unabashed hedonist, which makes his subsequent conversion and level of authority in the monotheist church wonderfully fascinating.
