Exercise: Not getting enough of it, according to my grandfather. I'm thinking of taking some pilates classes in Shanghai. There are a couple of well-run yoga centres in the Luwan district nearby that offer classes on weeknights that I could get to in time after work.
Work: Speaking of that, I'm going to be in Tianjin for a couple of days this week, then Changchun for a couple of days next week. Both cities are in the Northeast part of China, and it'll be nice to get away from Shanghai's humid heat and summer thunderstorms for a little bit.
Food: It's getting close to Mid-Autumn Festival! Time for
MOONCAKES. Mooncakes in China, from what I can see, have evolved commercially toward unusual concoctions like "fruit and nut", and "red bean paste" and "shredded coconut". The latter is actually very tasty, but I prefer the traditional "lotus seed paste and salted egg yolk" filling, thank you very much. I ended up buying a box made in Hong Kong, the same brand that I usually buy in Australia. :)
Bags: Was having lunch in Plaza 66 last week after a visit to the Australian Consulate, and saw the Loewe boutique, which carried a number of their lovely
Amazona handbags. Now I have something else to save up for.
