Cate Blanchett + Sword = OMG YES.

"the hero behind the outlaw"

I think the German trailer says the same thing...from what little I understand of German. I would have prefered it if Scott had gone with what was supposedly the initial description of the project, which was more of a "the outlaw behind the hero" retelling.

Some times I get the feeling that he's feeling a bit brow beaten and nore than a little annoyed that the audience has responded so well to the OTHER vampire.

I hear you. That said though, I sometimes get a little miffed at fans myself, when they accuse Ball of sidelining Eric these first two seasons, as if they'd forgotten how much he was a supporting character in the early books. What AB chooses to say about the show has to be thought of as marketing decisions, and it was too early to emphasise Sookie/Eric in interviews and press, when it would be harshing the squee of Bill fans who hadn't read the books and didn't know where the story was heading.

From this interview though, I'd say that Ball seems to have started legitimating Eric's role as a lead player.

Oh, haha, didn't really mean that as a complaint against AB. I was kind of saying the same thing. Feel a bit bad. Like's been a little bullied. BUT I suppose I do wonder at his apparant surprise at the strong reaction Eric's character.

Granted I like what he's done with the show. Prefer it in most cases over Harris's version (minus Ms. Paquin at the wheel, I like watching her less and less).
