Russell Crowe is in early talks to reprise the role of Jack Aubrey in a new movie based on Patrick O'Brian's novels. Crowe played the Napoleonic-era navy captain in Peter Weir's Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, which he co-starred in with Paul Bettany - a film I like enormously, and often rewatch because of its uplifting effect on me. I would totally get behind this IF both Weir and Bettany could be persuaded back. (
