Alice Braga, Vincent Cassel and Mickey Rourke are set to star in the Paulo Coehlo adaptation, 11 Minutes. The story follows a naive young woman, Maria (Braga), who is persuaded to leave her native Brazil and becomes a high-class prostitute in Switzerland. She later returns to Brazil, meets a young artist, and begins to fall in love. Cassel plays a music executive who gets her hooked on S&M. Rourke plays the club owner in Geneva. Italian heartthrob Riccardo Scamarcio is in talks to round out the cast as Ralf Hart, the artist. (Coming Soon)

Malin Ackerman, Ryan Phillipe and Taylor Kitsch will star in The Bang Bang Club, a movie based on the true story about four combat photographers capturing the bloody final days of South African apartheid. (Coming Soon) [imdb]

Dakota Fanning is in talks to join The Runaways as lead singer Cherie Currie of the 1970s all-girls rock band. Kristen Stewart is already signed on to play band member Joan Jett. (EW)

Chris Rock is writing an American remake of the British black comedy Death at a Funeral (starring Matthew Macfadyen, Keeley Hawes, et al.), to be directed by Neil LaBute. The cast includes Tracy Morgan, Martin Lawrence, Danny Glover, Regina Hall, James Marsden, Zoe Saldana, Columbus Short, Loretta Devine and Ron Glass.
