Dae and I went to see Quantum of Solace today, and we both really enjoyed it. It's definitely not your typical Bond movie - the action and the gadgets don't really stick in the memory. Instead, I loved: the score; slight, mesmerising Mathieu Almaric as the wide-eyed Dominic Greene; Daniel Craig and his...everything; the revelation that is Olga Kurylenko (what a steely and beautiful Mazikeen she would make); and the surprising complexity I found in it, moral and political. And how often do you get see a film set in Bolivia, anyway? Or one in which Communism isn't spoken as if it's a dirty word?

New poster and photos for Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, starring Bill Nighy, Rhona Mitra, and Michael Sheen. Hey look, it's Steven Mackintosh! [imdb]

Trailer for J. J. Abrams' shiny new Star Trek.

Hi-res stills from The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, featuring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett.

Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean) and Universal will produce a Hollywood remake of the Korean thriller The Host (which so_spiffed loves), with Fredrik Bond making his directing debut. (Coming Soon)

io9 has descriptions of new Terminator Salvation footage. This bit intrigued me:
'Crucial dialogue: Connor says, "This isn't the future that my mother told me about." And resistance pilot Blair Williams (Journeyman's Moon Bloodgood) replies, "If you saved us in another future, you can save us in this one."'

Again, after the newest episode of The Sarah Connor Chronicles, the idea of multiple (parallel?) futures.
