Helen Mirren (The Queen) will lead the cast of Julie Taymor's (Titus) adaptation of Shakespeare's The Tempest as "Prospera", an exiled duchess-turned-sorceress reigning over the island on which she was stranded with her daughter Miranda (Felicity Jones; Northanger Abbey), and served by the deformed Caliban (Djimon Hounsou) and the captured spirit Ariel (Ben Whishaw). A storm raised by Prospera wrecks a ship carrying the duchess' enemies on the island, its survivors including Alonso (Jeremy Irons), the King of Naples; his advisor Gonzalo (Geoffrey Rush is in talks for the role); crew member Stephano (Alfred Molina); and jester Trinculo (Russell Brand).
