The journalist, Pillinger, is totally a send-up of leftist journalist John Pilger, am I right?
Being a local (Sydneysider I mean), Pilger's face appears a lot on the posters of the Socialist Alternative Society on my university campus, so I'm pretty sure that the character is modelled on him.
Edit: Unrelated. How is it possible for people to still deny the general basis of evolutionary theory when you have this sort of freaky shit going on!?
