Yesterday, I watched (albeit in Russian) Mark Palansky's modern fairy tale,
Penelope. James McAvoy is as adorably dishevelled as I've ever seen him (no, seriously, I WANT HIS WARDROBE); Simon Woods reminds us, after that unforgetable turn as the repressed Augustus in Rome, why he was so good playing the comedic role in Pride and Prejudice; and who else but Christina Ricci could do so much of her acting, just by batting those big brown eyes?
Christensen is reportedly going to star as Case in a film adaptation of William Gibson's cyberpunk novel Neuromancer. First Jumper, now William Gibson. Is Hayden Christensen the new Keanu Reeves? (
And I don't mean that in a good way.) (

Nicole Kidman has left The Reader, a post-WWII drama in which she was going to star opposite Ralph Fiennes, after learning that she was expecting a baby, and her role has been filled by Kate Winslet. The director is Stephen Daldry (The Hours). (

...now, back to Victor Mair's translation of The Art of War.
