Winners at the Venice Film Festival. Ang Lee's controversial Lust, Caution took home the Golden Lion and the award for best cinematography, while the Silver Lion for best director went to Brian De Palma for Redacted. Acting prizes were awarded to Cate Blanchett (I'm Not There) and Brad Pitt (The Assassination of Jesse James). (Blanchett's co-star Heath Ledger accepted her award on her behalf, wearing this.) Todd Haynes' I'm Not There and Abdellatif Kechiche's La Graine et le mulet shared the special jury prize. The Speed of Life (Superheroes) from Ed Radtke won the first ever Queer Lion Award.
