Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal are set to make a film about the rise of Mao Zedong and the Communist Revolution in China, based on the memoirs of an American journalist
Roy Rowan, "Chasing the Dragon: A Veteran Journalist's Firsthand Account of the 1949 Chinese Revolution".
John Marans and Yuri Sivo (who worked together previously on the series Cookin' in Brooklyn) will adapt Chasing the Dragon into an epic-sized drama with a love story and Rowan will be a consultant. Sivo will also executive produce. (

I guess this means that the film will be in mostly English - but still, can we be more like
Clint Eastwood on this matter and bring in the subtitles, as well?
Clive Owen and George Clooney have been asked to play Britain's most successful art forger, John Myatt and his accomplice, John Drewe, in a film called Genuine Fakes. Veteran British writing team Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais (Lovejoy, Goal!) are writing the screenplay. Myatt's 'genuine fakes' now sell for as much as £75,000. (

_tayler has made some very funny Star Trek: The Original Series icons,
here.
Back when the first season of HBO's Rome first took over my heart, there were these two other miniseries also about the Roman emperors,
Empire and Imperium, released at around the same time. Both of which, to be fair, were about equally terrible. (No shyness about my prejudices, here.) But, but,
Imperium: Nerone did have the one-up in that someone in a stroke of genius had decided to cast John Simm as the violently unhinged Emperor Caligula. I'm convinced that RTD saw Imperium before writing the latest incarnation of The Master on Doctor Who, played by Simm. You can watch his scenes from the film
here online.
