A shorter new trailer for The Golden Compass at Apple Trailers. The fantasy adaptation, directed by Chris Weitz (About a Boy), stars Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig, Dakota Blue Richards, Eva Green and Sam Elliott. (And if you don't like the spoilery picture heading the post - tough! It's one of the things that made the book for me, how complex and adult that relationship was.) [imdb]

A set of characters posters for The Golden Compass has also been added at OutNow. (Scroll to the bottom for the others.)

First clip online from Todd Haynes' rumination on the life and art of Bob Dylan, I'm Not There, showing Cate Blanchett - one of six actors who portray different aspects of Dylan in the film. David Cross (Arrested Development) plays Allen Ginsberg. [imdb]

Matt Zoller Seitz reviews Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix:
"There's nothing in Phoenix as unexpected and splendid as the way Alfonso Cuaron directed the time-travel sequences in The Prisoner of Azkaban... But Phoenix is more consistently delightful from start to finish than any previous Potter movie. It is to this series what The Empire Strikes Back was to the Star Wars series: authentically dark with a light touch."
I love how he describes Gary Oldman's Sirius as "wise and gentle yet intangibly, irrefutably badass", and Alan Rickman as the "Thomas Crown of character acting: there's no scene he can't steal."

EW has a nice long chat with Daniel Radcliffe. (via selenak)

Naomi Watts and Clive Owen will star in Tom Tykwer's (Perfume, Run Lola Run) next film, action thriller The International. Owen will play an Interpol agent who attempts to expose a high-profile financial institution's role in an international arms dealing ring. Watts will play a Manhattan assistant district attorney who partners with the agent to take down the bank. (Hollywood Reporter) [imdb]

Aaron Eckhart talks about playing Harvey Dent/Two-Face in The Dark Knight. (Dark Horizons) [imdb]

Photos of Keanu Reeves in costume during the filming of crime drama The Night Watchmen. Cast also includes Forest Whitaker, Hugh Laurie, Chris Evans, and Naomie Harris. (JustJared) [imdb]

Via voleuse: Neil Patrick Harris and Jason Segel singing "The Confrontation" from Les Miserables.

Michael Moore (Sicko) has announced that his next documentary will be about the anti-gay Christian right movement in the United States. (Dark Horizons)
