The latest Bourne Ultimatum poster. Now that's more like it.

Arturo Perez-Reverte's novel about a female drug-lord, Queen of the South, is being made into a film, to be helmed by Venezuelan director Jonathan Jakubowicz (Secuestro express). (Dark Horizons)

Trailer for Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium, starring Dustin Hoffman, Natalie Portman and Jason Bateman. Portman plays Molly Mahoney, the awkward and insecure manager of Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, the strangest, most fantastic, most wonderful toy store in the world. But when Mr. Magorium, the 243 year-old eccentric who owns the store (Hoffman), bequeaths the store to her, a dark and ominous change begins to take over the once remarkable Emporium. Russell Crowe is in negotiations to work again with Ridley Scott in his spy thriller, Body of Lies. Leonardo Dicaprio will play the lead, an idealistic CIA agent Roger Ferris, newly stationed in Jordan, who develops an intricate scheme to sow seeds of suspicion among the terrorists he is hunting. Crowe will play Ferris' manipulative boss if he approves of Steve Zaillian's script polish. (Dark Horizons) [imdb]

This is one National Lampoon movie I can't wait to see - National Lampoon's 301: The Legend of Awesomest Maximus Wallace Leonidas. (Cinematical)

CBS's Moonlight is getting a cast overhaul, it looks like, with Sophia Myles (Tristan & Isolde) and Jason Dohring (Veronica Mars) joining supernatural drama about a vampire PI (played by Alex O'Loughlin) who struggles with the repercussions of immortality, vampire adversaries and his love for a mortal. Dohring will play ancient vampire Josef, a confidante of the protagonist, replacing 60-year-old Rade Serbedzija (Snatch) who played the part in the pilot presentation before the character was reconceptualized as a young, mischievous hedge-fund trader. Myles takes over from Shannon Lucio (The OC) in the female lead role of Beth Turner, a beautiful, ambitious Internet investigative reporter who is always on the hunt for the big story. Last time I checked, the promo for the show was looking very silly and derivative. I can only hope that the reconceptualised version is worth these actors' talents. (Hollywood Reporter) [imdb]

Interviews with cast members of The Dark is Rising: Jonathan Jackson (The Walker) and Christopher Eccleston (The Rider). (JoBlo) [imdb]

Ross Ruediger's Farscape retrospective at The House Next Door:
"It’s tempting to hail Farscape as a sci-fi TV breakthrough, but what really made the show work (aside from great scripts, direction, effects, puppetry and acting) was its uniquely derivative feel."

Gareth McLean at the Guardian on the science fiction of the 21st century (including Battlestar Galactica, Heroes, and Lost):
"Fans of the genre have long known that quality sci-fi and its sister genre fantasy hold up a mirror to the times in which they were created, but never before have the TV shows involved seemed so resonant or indeed so influential. Science fiction has never been more now, fantasy never more real."
