Anne Michaels is author of the Orange Prize winning "Fugitive Pieces". A film adaptation of the novel, directed by Jeremy Podeswa and starring Stephen Dillane, Rosamund Pike and Rade Serbedzija, will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival this year.

I've been horrible at commenting lately, but I needed to say that I absolutely loved Fugitive Pieces. It's been so long since I've read it, though, that I forget why I regard it so highly. I only seem to remember facts, which don't really mean anything.

I can't remember much that happens in it, either - but I do remember how gorgeous a book it was to read aloud.
