election business
The PM's finally announced a date for the federal electon (October 9) and I've realised with rather a rude shock that I still haven't yet enrolled to vote. When the representatives from the Australian Electoral Commission came around to school with the enrollment forms end of last year, I mustn't have filled it in - I think it was because I needed to supply the date that I became an Australian citizen and (surprise surprise) it wasn't a detail that exactly came to the fore of my memory.
Lazy bugger though I am, I hate to think of myself as a hypocrite. So that's one thing I need to do urgently: go to the nearest Post Office and send off the form. Hopefully it's not to late for them to add my name to the voters list for this year's election.
I'd love to see some resourceful journalist ruck up this kind of dirt on an election candidate:
