(~11am) Without a bedmate who awakes at the crack of dawn, nor an interruption from an overexuberant friend, I was able to sleep in today. There was nothing I had planned for the morning, and the extra slumber helped me regain the last of my lost energy from the revival. I was cheated from a natural awakening, however, by a loud bang from the direction of the door and sat up just in time to feel a stinging pain in my shoulder and a thud in the headboard behind me. I swore at the pain and turned to observe its cause. A mechanical pigeon was embedded in the dark wood and seemed to be smoking slightly...it could only be from one person. I redirected my curses to the castle's crazed inventress instead. Once the smoke had cleared a compartment and button could be seen on the underbelly of the demon-bird. I pressed the button to release a letter with news from the front in Khrennikov.
I searched about for my double's mind and found him asleep, so had a nice, informative chat about the journey and the wellbeing of Geika with Sir von Walde instead.
