The workflow has slowed down a bit, and it's approaching 100 degrees outside. Thank God I spend the majority of my time in well air-conditioned places, otherwise I'd be frying to death.
This week will be the last week I occupy an office. I'm being moved into the cubicle area, which means no more personal freedom to slouch back and relax and it'll now be increasingly difficult to pretend to do work. Oy.
The "Dog Days" of concert whoring starts up again this Friday w/ the first of two Josh Kelley acoustic shows at Joe's Pub, then Saturday in Asbury Park for Will Hoge (if it wasn't for Will Hoge, it was either [a] MC a Sweet 16 party or [b] head down to DC for The Wreckers [just to keep the streak going of seeing Michelle at the 9:30 Club]). And then Monday is the second Josh Kelley acoustic show at Joe's Pub.
Also, The Trews from Canada are hitting up CBGB 8/16. Kristine, you know you want in! I loved this band when they opened up for Will Hoge in Brooklyn, and I can't pass up on an opportunity to see them again! Also, it's my first visit to CBGB, so it'll be interesting. Yes, I know, I haven't gone to CBGB yet, and I call myself a concert whore. Shame on me.
I paid my second installment for The Rock Boat on Monday and last weekend I booked a hotel room for the pre-Boat festivities. Rachael, Lucinda and Renee are gonna room with me, so it's gonna be fun fun fun!
Speaking of plans for The Rock Boat, I'm starting to save money for a flight in/out of Fort Lauderdale, and I keep looking at flight prices like it's the stock market, just waiting for those fares to increase ever so slowly. I went on sidestep.com to see there's a $179 r/t fare on American Airlines, and now Northwest Airlines has stepped into the pricing wars w/ $198 r/t fares. JetBlue recently came into the bidding at $219 r/t. Hmm...
And there goes the trip preparation geek in me spewing nonsense again.
Oh yeah, I just got a notice from the State of Maryland saying I owe taxes. Damn turbotax.com for screwing me over.
