Marc Broussard! On a boat! Need I say more??? 6/28/06
On the eve of a rather busy day at work, I rushed over to the West Side to get on some concert boat (not to be confused with The Rock Boat), all the while running into Marc Broussard to say hi.
Marc played an amazingly intense set from start to finish, even though he got a bit seasick in the middle of it all, relieving himself when his guitar riffing buddy Gibb Droll would play one long and kickass solo.
Nevertheless, I didn't pay attention to what the boat was doing or where it was going. I stayed in my position the entire time, singing along to all the songs I knew, especially during "Home" and "Rocksteady," and it almost seemed like I was shouting. But those songs are of the shouting type.
While waiting for the boat to dock, I did manage to get a pic in w/ the man himself:

And whaddya know! I'm seeing Curtis Peoples at his CD Release Show! 7/1/06
I headed back to Bleecker Street, without my trusty Red Hat this time, to check out Tara Lea and Curtis Peoples once again. It was also the birthday of Curtis' lead guitar for the night, Jason "Slim" Gambill, and we definitely lived it up.
Oh yeah, Curtis was awesome enough to have Phil as his drummer for the night. Phil is one awesome drummer, and he does gigs up and down Bleecker Street for anyone that will pay him.
And...oh yes...I have to say it was fricken sweet to see Jill again! I haven't seen this girl in AGES and she shows up!
She's the one on the right...and yes, they managed to get inside a fire truck.
