"You're messing with the wrong guy!"
I watched Planes, Trains, and Automobiles last night, and despite how tired I was, I really liked it. It was great situational humor matched with just the right amount of slapstick humor, without any attempt at wit or cleverness to bog it down. Steve Martin and John Candy had a fantastic humorous chemistry that you can't manufacture or plan. The pure ridiculousness of some of the situational humor, like a car catching on fire, is just something I can't even imagine how John Hughes or anyone else imagined.
To be honest, there are comedies I like more, but there's something classically funny about this one that I probably won't forget. I won't remember the movie, I'm sure, but I'll remember that it was funny and that Steve Martin and John Candy are at the top of their game in it.
I am totally getting my money's worth out of Netflix right now.
