So in exciting "OH RIGHT sometimes I go to school" news,
Ludacris will be performing at LDOC and
the first Asian American woman young trustee is elected to Duke's Board of Trustee's. I wasn't able to vote for her, since I'm a graduate student, but I am incredibly pleased to see this result, despite it not being recognized by the Chronicle. This is a huge step for a community that I feel from my time here is bizarrely quiet, and it is a fact that deserves recognition. It isn't simply that she is a woman, it is that she is an Asian American woman and I'm a little disappointed that this has failed to be spoken about.
Okay that's all I've got. I have a horrible headache, my tongue is covered with coldsores, and I've been sleeping for most of the day, and I think I'm going to go back to that now.
