Weather used FREEZING RAIN

Jan 11, 2011 11:26

So I had this list of things I would do today because classes don't start until tomorrow and I've been gone for 3 weeks. I was even going to wake up on time to start them all!

Except that yesterday there was snow and today there is freezing rain and it's still below freezing, so I have a feeling I'll be stuck inside for most if not all of it. Duke even delayed, then cancelled classes today :O

/gazes forlornly at list ):

The flight was fine, I slept through most of both of them. I missed all the rounds of drinks and snacks during a 6.5 hour trip ): My mommy made me lunch! But I didn't eat it because lol sleep. The SuperShuttle ride home was... interesting. I think taking the shuttle to the airport is more efficient. First there was no one at the desk when I wanted to check in, so I had to use the courtesy phone, then while I was dragging my luggage outside in the snow to the pickup area they called me back to change the information.

Then I kept waiting for the shuttle - one of my neighbors from last year drives a taxi and saw me, and kept circling to make sure I was okay. FINALLY the shuttle arrived, but we looped around the airport twice more to pick up passengers. One of them was a girl at UNC, and they got her address wrong, so she ended up stuck in the shuttle. The second was a girl from France who had just arrived at the airport and had no idea where anything was and lived down a dirt road.

ANYWAY eventually I got home to take immediate care of my fish, order a pizza, and unpack. I was generous with my tipping yesterday because lol SNOW and FROZEN ROADS. Watched most of Ratatouille and some of the BCS Championship >:( >:( >:( and then Daily Show/Colbert Report, caught up on How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory on the Internet, and got some desperately needed rest.

Well, I suppose this means that I will actually finish and submit my overdue conference paper.

I am also lacking in groceries :/

IN GOOD NEWS I am almost finished with Dark Dawn, I'm currently stuck at the Star Magician on the Ghost Ship but I have a feeling it has to do with my poor (random) distribution of Djinn and my characters' lack of party-healing Psynergy. They're plenty leveled up, but I only have so many defense-boosting Djinn and my party just can't recover from major damage fast enough to out-last those stupid support balls - the Star Magician basically gets 6 actions every turn! >:(

I could just leave the Ghost Ship and move on with the plot (I'm on my way back to Yamatai to get the last orb!), but it took me almost half an hour to find the Ghost Ship and that sucked.
