OMG YESTERDAY WAS THE LONGEST DAY EVER.
Slept around 2, woke up around 4 in order to get ready and finish packing. Jordan took me to the airport; I thought I would be fine getting there an hour early, but apparently everyone in North Carolina wants to fly out at 7 in the morning ;___; So I ended up checking my bag like 3 minutes late and then just barely made it to the gate at the end of the B group. *sob*
Dozed a little on the plane, chatted to the lady next to me, got off and waited for a long time for my luggage. I let
ghostly_watcher know that OMG I'M AT BWI!!!1! so we agreed to meet at Union Station. I had to wait for the Amtrak, and then when we were literally 5000 feet from the station we got stuck in the snow. The snow here, by the way, is absolutely gorgeous. So fucking cold, but so pretty.
We had lunch together, walked around, and chatted for a couple hours, then I went to go wait for the hotel shuttle. Wow, some people are obnoxious. After I got to the hotel I ended up calling Alex to talk for a few minutes, then got lost several times, then met up with
rhapsody_in_rue and
midgarangel very briefly. I spent the rest of the day with Ty, helping out at the booth and then following around nicely.
In the evening we rested at the hotel room; I did some reading and Aaron and I watched disturbing Cartoon Network children's shows. I did not take a nap, though, which I probably should have.
Around 9:30/10 (are you keeping track of time?) we went back to the Gaylord to have drinks. One of her friends was sweet enough to pay for our drinks and it was so nice a;kldjf;akdf. We wandered around for a while, went to her friends' panel, and then went to the bar across the street. Please note that we were both dressed for the not!formal formal dance, and neither of us had coats. i.e. I was freezing and trying not to slip on the wet/icy sidewalk in my heels.
I watched ESPN for two hours at the bar and paid for my own midori sour :/ Oh well. That's how it goes.
I didn't get to bed until about 3.
ALMOST 24 HOURS, GUYS. ALMOST 24 HOURS.
OKAY SO RIGHT NOW I'M IN THE HOTEL ROOM EATING A SANDWICH AND WATCHING THE DUKE/MARYLAND GAME. I love me my Blue Devils right now, and it's really hard to take a statement like "fear the turtle" seriously (Maryland is the Terrapins). Even if Maryland is very good. They've also not played in a week or so because of the blizzards and snow. I kind of wish I were at home for this game.
Also, it's Coach K's 1000th game at Duke ♥ We may not always like him, but that's still really impressive.
I think that I'll head over to the hotel/bar at half time maybe to watch the game :3 Yeah, I know, I'm a really shitty con-goer.
