Thats almost how I feel about my brother. It's more pity then anything that keeps me from just disowning him. He isn't respectful to our Father, who goes out of his way on a regular basis to help him out of the stupid situations he gets himself into, and gets no thanks, or respect for it. My brother didn't even call my Father on his birthday. I didn't either. I didn't remember until midnight, but i called the very next morning and apologized. My brother was reminded by my mother the day before and still didn't call. Many other things involving his back water attitudes and vulgarity, the fact that he is passing it on to his kids makes me sick. I try when I'm around them to make them understand there are better ways to think and be. What are you supposed to do though? If he were someone I worked with, or just met, I wouldn't give him a second thought, let alone attempt a friendship. Just b/c you are in someones family doesn't mean that you have to like or have anything to do with them. You don't feel guilty because you don't have anything to feel guilty about.
