I used to love to blog...what happened to me?
I can't say I'm exactly busy. I have been away from home for about the past month, but I haven't even tried to journal my daily activities. I fear that some of the more exciting stories will be forever lost because there is no picture to remind me of what happened.
So, before I forget some of the more memorable things:
-Almost failing to get through Chinese customs because of a slight fever. (37.3 C)
-Two hour delay flying into Shanghai because of weather and the subsequent parade of boxed food coming onto the aircraft
-The "Oh Shit Matchmaker convention"
-I still can't find a drink manly enough to make other people happy
-Racing in peapod boats, egging on the 4 rowers to row just a bit quicker
-The cheesiest setup for "The Victors" that you will ever see
-When you get lost, Take your clothes off!!
-Then the farmers revolted.
With all that said ... will I ever turn this into a full-blown narrative story with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining what each one is? Sadly, probably not. I know I have about 1600 photos; but if one of them fails to remind me of a story ... the stories will be forever lost. I wonder how many stories have already slipped my mind from my previous road-trip vacation...
The other part of this question is what happens to this here blog. It hasn't seen any action since mid march, and it hasn't seen any non-frustration posts since the end of CY08. A blog updated twice a year is hardly a blog at all. Of course, the dwindling crowd makes it harder for these posts to facilitate discussion, which takes some of the fun out of the blogging process. That said, using a blog merely to stroke one's ego and prove one has friends is kinda pointless too.
Now I'm just rambling.
Bottom line, this probably won't see frequent updates anymore; writing about myself is no longer a priority, it seems. It's easier to tweet what's on my mind, and at 140 characters, TLDR is no longer an issue.
Here's to hoping you haven't been constantly F5'ing my page every day hoping for a new entry; if you have ... well, this one's for you.
