Blood and Flowers 5/?
Gai nodded, and Neji snapped to attention. Sasuke was eyeing the walls, and the day Kakashi snapped to attention was the day he broke.
"Mission specs?" He asked lazily.
"Well, you'll be familiar with the wizarding laws." Snape began, "Voldemort is attempting to destroy the muggle world, or at least enslave them, and as this would eventually encroach into your territory, I thought it prudent to bring one of you along when I, ahem, went to stop him. I have been a spy for Dumbledore for many years, so have no difficulty in -" He stopped, realising that his audience were staring at him blankly. Or, in Kakashi's case, even more blankly than before. And he thought maybe Neji was staring blankly - it was hard to tell. And Sasuke was testing the walls. Okay, so maybe only Gai was staring blankly at him, but as he seemed to be the leader, he was the only one who mattered.
"We're shinobi." Gai said slowly, as if trying to connect this fact to the previous paragraph.
Snape grimaced. He had no idea what that meant, only that they understood nothing.
"Basically Voldemort is a bad man...snake...wizard...person, and I need to stop him. I need you lot to help me. Can you fight?"
A soft snort from Neji told him all he needed to know.
"What are his capabilities? Does he have any companions? If so, what are their capabilities? What is his layout like? Do you have a map for us? How long will we need to take?" Kakashi was in full shinobi mode, ignoring the fact that his student was trying to hack the bricks out of the wall.
Snape winced as Sasuke gave the wall a particularly vicious kick. "This room is sealed with magic." He snapped, "You won't be able to escape unless I release the spell." Sasuke just shrugged, and activated his Sharingan.
Neji shook his hair out. "He's telling the truth." He informed Sasuke. "I've already checked the room out. There's some sort of complex jutsu in place, one I've never seen before. I doubt either of us would be able to break it." Sasuke ignored him. Neji scowled.
"Now, now you two!" Gai said, grabbing them both and crushing them together in his embrace. "We are on a mission together, and I know you, Neji, may be a little jealous of our new member, but try and see the bright side of this!"
Snape pinched the bridge of his nose and, as Neji and Sasuke slowly started turning blue, began to explain just how fearsome the enemy was.
However, unbeknown to him, his spell had gone more awry than he had preciously suspected. Directly upstairs in the bathroom a single blossom floated gently to the ground, falling into a small puddle of blood dripping from Wormtail's bloodied fingers. Scrubbing the bath was such a bitch of a job.
"Stupid bas-" But Wormtail's swearing was lost in the crack of magic, as a pink-haired ninja dropped to the ground, rolled, then jumped into a fighting stance. Chakra sizzled around her as she shouted:
"NARUTO! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE THIS TIME, DAMMIT?!"
