Can't Sleep On the Borderlands

Session four of The Keep On the Borderlands took a turn for the weird(er) last night. After kicking the collective butt of Red Hand Harry's gang last time (and reaching 3rd level), the party made a big ol' bandit bonfire with the bodies (carefully making sure it was downwind), then set up camp for the tiny little bit of night that was left.

The Bandits Out The Windows was only minimally frustrating, it would have been fun to watch at least one bounce off the door. This was largely offset, however, by the fact that the oiled steps messed up nearly every person coming down them, and bottlenecked the boss and 1/3 of his crew before they could swarm the priest or anybody else until nearly every other enemy was mopped up or fleeing. Every trick doesn't need to be a full success, but it's nice to get at least one.

As the only real bounty was for Harry anyhow, the bare couple that got away didn't really cost us, and will be carrying the party's legend forward. Maybe one will share stories with some kobolds before they eat him.

As for sneaking and the grell... mostly he just wanted to know what was in there without 'triggering the event' and that was a success. Nikki wouldn't be too put out that a floating brain didn't fall for his sneaking, but played along instead. it's a floating BRAIN, not like there's eyes and ears to fool, anyway. Nikki got his revenge turning it into cerebral confetti with a high velocity club.

I like the swashbuckling effects, going to need to remember to stab and then retreat up a wall more often to prevent being chased down and pasted after poking something nasty.
