dublin

alright. let's talk about dublin, which i'm sure will sort of also be an argument as to why i should never be a travel/ guidebook writer.

it's wet here. is it like this all the time. like it doesn't seem to rain hard, but it sprinkles a lot.

things look old, like they do in pictures of ireland.

there's a river in the middle of the city.

cathedrals are pretty.

i was wondering if i blended in well, ethnically i'm probably only about a quarter irish. but i think i do because a little old lady asked me for directions. and then i opened my mouth and she probably realized that i wouldn't know. but not talking is easy when you are alone. i've also had a couple people looking to extract donations approach me. i think they need irish people cause they didn't ask me for anything. i usually have a habit of ignoring everyone that approaches me or tries to hand me something. but maybe i'm just so alone i'll talk to anyone.

gift shops have all sorts of corny irish crap. i didn't know they really had that sort of stuff in ireland. i suppose i had always thought it was a cheesey american greeting card store thing.

as you can tell, i learn a lot when i travel.
