Ok. The last few months have been particularly buy ones. I haven't really had much of a chance to update anyone. So. Here is a quick overview of the more... memorable aspects of July '06 for me.
We shall begin a long time back, June the twenty something or other.
The Bloth took place and was absolutely beyond awesome. I had a truly magnificent time. The Tourney of the Rose took place in the afternoon and I had two requests from Lords to be my Champion. : P One of these was from a Baron :0. In the end Lord Benedict fought for my honour. To be honest he wasn't very good at the fighting, (much more of a fencer than a great weapons warrior: P) and he lost every challenge except for the last. He kept coming over and giving me white roses for loss, hee hee. But he kept going back and finally he won a Rose for victory. It was so sweet of him!
Then we had the actual Bloth. The food was absolutely gorgeous; Andrew certainly knows how to cook! And then there was the dancing. This was extraordinarily fun. The Next part of the Baron and Baroness' challenge (see ildhafn website for more details: P) took place, to see who could galliant (a type of medieval dancing consisting of jumping up and down, surprisingly like moshing) the longest. The Lords won unfortunately :(, with Paul gallianting third longest :0. I spent a lot of time helping out in the kitchen and it all wound up about midnight.
I had my last exam the next Monday, It went ok. But let's not think about that. I spent the next two weeks flat out sewing. I was sewing for about 9-11 hours a day. :( not a good thing. Still I got everything done in time for coronation. However I forgot in there about Alice's Birthday *hits self repeatedly overhead* something for which I cannot forgive myself.
Coronation turned up the first weekend of July. Honestly, it was the best weekend of my life. There is no way I could describe what it meant to me here, or how much fun I had. I made some awesome and incredibly interesting new friends, got to see amazing things (like fire dancers), be Lady-in-Waiting to the Baroness at a crown court: D, and GOT AUTHORIZED FOR RAPIER!!!! I got to know Nadia and Nicole and Alex a lot better, which was awesome, and again spent a lot of time helping out in the kitchen (an absolutely awesome way to meet new people and do silly things like singing while washing the dishes) and dance and sing and drink the nights away.
After that, I spent the holidays babysitting *shudders* and doing more research for medieval projects. Went to a few KAOS parties in there, were mostly good fun. Jack's Birthday party was certainly interesting ;), as were Candice's flat warming, the Pirate Party, and Karen's Birthday. Hmmm... Actually that might be all of them: P.
Anyway. I am now three weeks back at Uni and regretting that I ever took Latin this semester. I have spent the last week and a bit working on the menu for the next medieval event, The Frostbane Festival. The first *big* event our little Uni college is holding. I stuck my hand up as head cook, and while fun, it is rather time consuming. EPP! It's so exciting; we are going to have a baronial court and everything!!! It’s scary though and I keep freaking out over silly little details, (much to Alex's annoyance). Everyone is invited to come along; it's on the 26th of August and costs $20. It will be a blast!
I went along to heavy fighter's practise on Tuesday to get Lord Andrew to look over the menu I’d prepared and got thoroughly beaten up for my efforts. It was quite scary. I'm absolutely hopeless at it, where as Alex is a complete natural. *Sigh* Then I went along to armouring yesterday to finish my Gauget and finished up being kitted out with a complete outfit of loaner armour so I can keep doing heavy. *Groan* I don't think they are going to let me escape: P Still, Its a good way to build up my strength and reaction times, and a terribly good work out. Plus aggression reliever: P hee hee.
Today I woke up with the 'flu. I am most put out, as this is my first illness this year. Fencing practise was cancelled which is always sad, but probably best seeing I am sick. And now after being up for a paltry two hours I am buggering off back to bed.
