London

Yep, that's where I went a few weeks ago and what a wonderful city! It was rainy but still everyone was outside enjoying the weekend. In my country, is mostly sunny all year long and people prefer to spend their days inside a shopping center, so it was a complete surprise to me to see so many people in the streets xD
I took a looot of pictures while I was there and I decided to share! ^^ And also to train some Photoshop edition xD I love the vintage look on pictures and this post was a good excuse to train that, so here goes nothing!

First Day!
We walked a lot! And that's how I love to visit a place! We walked through many streets visiting stores, buying stuff and all that. Later, my family went touring through the city while I spent the whole afternoon at Tate Modern Museum, a project by Herzog & De Meuron.

So here's one of the first pictures xD and don't those cakes look good? This store had a huuuge showcase of cakes that ended in the street xD To my dismay, I didn't take any pictures inside ^^;

You can tell that the poor beggar (my bro) was salivating xD

It's London, of course it's raining! And did we bring an umbrella? Of course not! We had to buy it xD

BT Tower, we were close but I think the city was a bit more thrilling than that ^^;

Oh my do I have a sense of déjà vu.. at the time I just had in my mind "I can't believe I'm going to sing one of his songs... what am I thinking?" xD Rock on, Freddy!

This was near Buckingham Palace, I just love his attitude xD

You're wondering: "Why the heck are you taking a picture to your glasses?" There's a motive! This was my first picture with the lens that I bought just minutes before! And I instantly fell in love with it xD

Best meal I had there and once again trying out the new lens ^^;

As we walked through the site we ran into many things, including this parade of piaggios! One day I'll have a bike like this, just for fun xD

These four were a funny bunch xD They were yelling at the bikers in support but when a good-looking man with shorts arrived in his bike, they just went crazy xD

Of course we had to visit Big Ben! ^^

And London Eye too!

When I saw these two I just thought: "Someday it will be me!" xD

I know I'm studying architecture but I've never heard of this building! And I still don't know what it is... *google*

And now the main reason why I went to London! One of the building that I'm going to study for my thesis, and really, what wonderful place. For now on bear with some architecture pictures, I try to be brief xD

Love the contrast between new and old!

This was also my reaction once I entered! You'll see why...

"Woah... huge!" That's why xD

That bookstore was beautiful ;__;

I was amazed by the quantity of people inside the museum. In my country people don't really care about culture, our museums are empty all the time. It's due to our ignorance and due to many other things that our government doesn't really care about ^^

And they go there to chill xD

I love this picture, I think I'm going to post it at DA ^^

Once again trying out the new lens, I love this depth of field. This was at the Tate restaurant and it was full!

This café was awesome, I love how they worked out the light. And that guy was probably wondering "Why is she taking a picture to a wall?" Little did he know... xD

Second Day!
I was so tired... but still I knew there was going to be an anime expo in London and I decided to check it out! To see the differences xD and they were HUGE! We only have real small anime conventions at my country and this one was soooo big that I began to feel fed up really. It was crowded and I was really hoping to find some FMA merchandize but to my disappointment it was almost nonexistent. Or maybe I just didn't find it xD But of course there were toooooons of Naruto and tooooooons of Death Note, and since I don't really like Naruto and I never saw Death Note I began to feel a small regret of going there lol. Still it wasn't all that bad, I bought some soundtracks at a good price and some posters both from Final Fantasy series. And then, trip back to Portugal ;__;

Oh my, my childhood memories xD The A-Team was epic xD

I don't know if they were cosplayers or if they were paid to be there, either way, cool! xD

That was the biggest FMA manifestation I saw, so yeah I was disappointed xD

Again, awesome costumes!

"No Luke! Use the Force!!" xD

And Piccadilly Circus! Crowded as every place in London was ^^

I just kept wondering why there was a bunch of random characters waiting to get inside a tour bus.

Trafalgar Square, and that's how much I saw of it. By know we were heading back to the hotel to pick up our bags and leave ._.

Paddington station and this was the bye bye London ;__;

Even the suburbs looked awesome...

And England from the skies! Doesn't it look like a bunch of rags sewed to each other?

I couldn't take my eyes off the window! It was so vast that I felt lonely in a good way xD and one song went through my mind...
"Will you let me romanticize, the beauty in our London skies!" Go Jamie! xD

So this was it... I'll be sure to arrange another trip there but this time I'll stay there a whole week! It's still not enough time but I don't wanna run out of money xD I'm still recovering from this trip --; but it had to be done, it was a work trip not a vacation. And this is actually the thing I like about architecture, having to go to places we've never been ^^

Now one last picture just to say!

Portugal's urban planning sucks!! xD

It was funny passing by Spain and then finally crossing the border to find this scenario xD We are scattered all over the place, I think they're all small villages with what... ten houses? Or even less. Still, it's what makes a trip all over our country interesting xD We never know what we might find in the next curve! And that's what I'm planning to do this summer and it will help me on my thesis as well! So it's time to get inside a van with a bunch of friends and discover Portugal! ^^

And yay for the portuguese football players that passed to the next phase of the world cup! Never thought that we'd survive against Brazil ^^ We're small but strong yay! Now can you please stooooop the vuvuzelas? They're everywhere -.-;
