Finally I'm able to have some free time to leave some of my thoughts about the
last chapter of Fullmetal Alchemist....
;_______________________________________________________;
And that's all I have to say about that... xD
My my... it was such a beautiful ending and so fitting. every single little thing! Arakawa has such an eye for details that it's astounding! I never thought that while I sat and saw all the preview pages and the full chapter afterwards that I'd be trembling and tearing up as I did! It was insane! I know it's just fictional that they don't exist but I felt... so alive? I don't know it was a one of a kind experience in my life. Never thought that a story would have a power to make me feel so sad and so happy at the same time.
One of the things I enjoyed the most was the way Ed was drawn in this final chapter. You just feel the weight that left his shoulders in the end, it's beautiful. I've been re-reading the first books of the manga and it's amazing to see the difference of his look during his journey and the last pages of the chapter. And that's enough to leave me with a wide grin on my face xD and when he finally cried I threw my arms in the air xD and I cried too because Hoho is just way too sweet ;__; and the look of despair on his face when he was trying to figure out a way to bring Al back!! bwaaa, really the mighty cow did such a wonderful job!
It's funny that in the end it made me realize that Ed is indeed my favorite character lol I was always battling because I really do love every single character from this manga, it's just impossible not to. Everyone has their role and everyone has an essence that makes them unique so it was always hard to me to define the favorite. It was either Ed or Winry, and for a time I really thought of Winry as my favorite character but with this ending it was settled. And this is why I love them as a couple xD and the fact that it ended with a geeky confession between them it was... just truly unbelievingly sweet xD it was that extra that added fuel to my love for the whole story and to these characters. I don't know why but I feel that 20 years from now I'll still remember every single detail of this story because I know I won't stop re-reading it xD and my kids are definitely going to read this, I'm gonna make them!! Ah ah! I'll start with my one year old goddaughter... then my niece that's going to be born this October! I'm gonna spread the FMA love xD
What a journey... and after reading Arakawa's interview it just... yeah, I'm speechless again xD
Actually after reading that interview it made me think a lot of my own journey and my resolve... and boy am I eager to walk through it xD
Now the uninteresting stuff, I delivered my final project today! xD So yeah I'm writing this with a bunch of all nighters on top of me so I'm sorry if it's disarticulated xD and I just want to share with you one of my drawings! Just tell me, who are they!! They are in my project and I recognize them but I just can't seem to get who they are......
xD Cool uh? I wasted some time finding fitting images to draw them in AutoCAD but now they are in my project! It's some kind of circus school so it was really fitting! I'm really a fanatic.... --;
Now I want to set out a little challenge and I want whoever reads this to leave a comment please! We all hear and know music from all over the world and what I wanted was for you to share with me musicians of your country that you feel they could represent your country's music in the world. It can be any style of music but I'm highly interested in the traditional music that shows the true characteristics of your country, so tell me names! I want to know what's out there! And if you have friends that are from other countries please show them this post so they can share too!
I'll share some of my own too!
One of the Portuguese bands that I always looooved is called Clã that means clan in English. They're more the alternative type but at least they are one of the very few that sing in Portuguese in a way that sounds good. Really wonderful lyrics. There's the unique style of music that we have that's called Fado that has no translation in English, it's our traditional music at its best but it's outdated as well so the youngsters in my country don't listen to much... ok, even I don't listen to it that much lol. But there is a band that I think they broke up a while ago, I'm not sure, that's called Madredeus and their music is based of Fado and its beautiful. If you ever come to Lisbon you should have them in you IPod or mp3 player because it simply fits. There's a new band that is getting more and more fans called Deolinda, also based on Fado but not as erudite as Madredeus. They really work with the essence of our music and the things they talk about in their lyrics reach every theme possible and so they show the true essence of the Portuguese people.
If you want to check them out here's the links to mypsace! ^^

Nau Catrineta
http://www.myspace.com/naucatrineta I'm no music expert so I'm not saying that these are the ones to represent my country, I know as much as an ordinary person knows ^^ From what I know I really like these, and if there any Portuguese with some suggestions leave them here as well ^^
