Do you know you're so beautiful? / On the edge of summer

Or not, as the case may be, given that winter's beginning to hit home here. (The rain would start just as the French exchanges got here. Of course it would.) But I'm liking Vienna Teng a lot at the moment, so.

Personal statement is done! And it's such a relief- although that does mean that all that's left is to meet with my less-than-pleasant UCAS advisor person. This was our introductory convo this morning:

Me: Hi! Can haz appointment plz?
Evil UCAS Lady (EUL): *glares* Deadline was last week. Do you have an excuse?
Me: Well, every time I came to see you (and I did at least once a day), either you weren't in, or there was a massive queue from your door...
EUL: WELL THAT'S A RUBBISH EXCUSE I HOPE YOU'RE NOT A MEDIC I DON'T WANT YOU TO KILL ME ONE DAY. Anyway, make an appointment.
Me: Um, when are you free?
EUL: THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS
Me: ...meep?

So yeah. Ray of sunshine, she is. That appointment should be fun.

French exchanges are home now, which is a huge weight off. Lovely as Laura-Lee was, having to take care of her, translate etc. was inordinately tiring- something which wasn't helped by our staying out until ridiculously late hours every evening last weekend.

What was odd was having to spend time with Laura-Lee's best friend Clara and her exchange partner, who I don't normally talk to. Granted, we get on alright, but spending most of the week with her when I rarely even see her normally was a little weird.

Also, I tried weed for the first time. I got the munchies and a weird urge to hug things and send surprisingly lucid FB messages about the whole experience to orrien. I'm not doing it again.
