Okay, so I didn't get the unexpected naked Jack. Then again, naked Jack is never unexpected, so it was a fairly impossible wish to begin with. /shot
Christmas in general was pretty awesome though. After my old laptop died a slow death involving multiple crashes, keyboards that [added [brackets [on [to [spaces [like [this and so on, my parents decided to forget their original plan of buying me a laptop for my 18th birthday and bought it as a joint birthday-Christmas thing this year instead. I am thus now the owner of a rather swanky new HD laptop, and while I've been told it's not as good as what they would have bought me for my eighteenth, I'm thinking I can quite definitely live with that. The wide keyboard is taking some getting used to though, since the old laptop was dinky and this one's rather huge.
Also got the entirety of the next few months' reading list (including the wonderful 'Pardon My French', which has been very enlightening, as well as a signed copy of 'Crocodile Tears' (!!!)), lots of clothes, heaps of bath stuff and a ceramic mask. Not entirely sure what my grandparents meant by putting the latter into our stockings, but they're somewhat pretty despite their complete lack of usefulness.
I did like Doctor Who this year. Insane!Superpowered!Master is awesome, but what I do find odd is the apparent lack of discussion on the fact that (spoiler) icequeenrex for the reminder. ^^)
Lulzy moment of yesterday today: I did most of an iPod-on-shuffle meme a few minutes ago on igiko's journal. The song my trusty Lily came up with for 'wedding dance'? 'Run'.
Speaking of music- do any of you have songs that you think suit Death Note's Light Yagami? Just that I'm putting an FST of sorts together for him, and extra songs would quite definitely be appreciated.
I went to see Planet 51 today. It's... well, I hate to sound like an advert, but it is an ideal family film. It's cute, it's got a brilliant balance between child and adult humour (the 'antenna' joke was made all the more hilarious by my eight-year-old sister not getting it) and it's just downright fun. And needs Hetalia fic, like, now. I mean, over-confident astronaut, complete with a middle initial that he uses to introduce himself? A grumpy, reluctant and really rather big-browed sidekick? Come on, fandom, where are the crossovers already? And no, I did not find myself inexplicably fascinated by everyone's eyebrows. Not at all.
And finally, it's my birthday in a week! Think I might postpone the actual party a month or so though- I'd like to wait until the English dub of Ponyo gets to cinemas, since it's something that pretty much everyone I know will enjoy, but that's not until February 12th, so... yeah.
And thanks so much to those who put up with my angstiness on Christmas Eve too. Much appreciated, guys, and yes, Christmas was much better. ^^
