Yes,
this is a snarky article (well, kind of), and as a English girl and a Hetalia!England fan, I must confess it smarts somewhat to be snubbed over something that
we actually didn't do (Scotland has its own government, after all), or at least, for something that there's no evidence whatsoever our government was involved in.
But these responses made me headdesk repeatedly:
"What a ridiculous non-story this is. A focus on the efforts towards world health, economics and nuclear intentions would have been far better served, and more of an interest to readers."
"Is the reason for this spat really about belittled Britain feeling hurt at not being invited to the party. Or is it really about Race?"
To the first: saying that is like saying that's all there is to the relationship, which would be to belittle it. Besides, that's what every other reporter was doing, and where's the fun in that?
To the second: wtf? Seriously, dude. Not every political spat has something to do with race. Brown bloody loves Obama- possibly too much so. Bring out the race card again, and I'll show you the scars on my head and hands from when I spent my childhood getting thrown into walls for being white.
In other news...
dear Lord. I know Americans usually dislike government intervention, but that's just sick.
This is slightly worrying too. As is the fact that, if everyone lived the way I did, we'd need 2 1/3 Earths to support it, according to
this quiz.
