mercy_sands beach sunsets
I don't really have too many memories of beach sunsets. They were always the prelude to the beach bonfire and the beach too-drunk-to-move.
I like them though, and if I ever get my wish, I'll live closer to the sea at some point in my life.
tobacco
I love tobacco. I love everything about tobacco. I love the smell and the feel and the taste. I love how the smoke lingers and hangs. I love how it packs into pipes and I love a good kick of Vitamin N.
About the only things I don't like are cigarettes. Unfortunately, my love affair with Mistress Nicotine makes that a particularly difficult habt to break.
I'm still trying though.
aftershave
After I lost interest in Pomp o'Doom, I started making olde schoole aftershave. Aftershave the way it was meant to be made, with nothing but booze and bay leaves. And some cinnamon, I think. Nothing closes the pores like a fistful of dark rum.
I was a little worried about smelling of hobo, but it turned out alright. Other than you and Etienne, I don't think too many other people used it.
Strangely enough, I almost never wear aftershave.
cavemen
What's not to like about cavemen? You get to run around in a bear hide and bop unsuspecting caveladies on the head with your club!
I have it on good authority that It's a sign of affection.
When we did our caveman show, I had the bright idea of wearing chicken wing necklaces. Whenever we took a break in bewteen songs, we'd take a bite out of the cold wings. The crowd loved it. And then we realised that the grease was congealing all over our chests. And that grease makes it hard to hold picks.
I also found out that chicken wings and polyester wigs don't mesh well. I accidentally swallowed one of the long plastic hairsand had to try and fish it out during one of the songs. The rest of the band was laughing at my puke faces.
Bastards.
guitars
Anyone who plays music has an instrument that calls to them, and the electric guitar is that for me.My hands just naturally tend to grab for it. It feels right. Strings vibrate under the fingers and snap under the pick. And the amp makes your spleen jiggle.
I'm finally beginning to fix a lot of bad habits that I've built over the years, and my playing is improving because of it. I'm beginning to lose the death grip I've always held on the neck and the pick, and my playing is becoming more fluid becuase of that.
Old injuries die hard.
