I visited a wonderful bunch of children last week. Actually, they are the ones who sort of visited me on set, since my schedule didn't allow for me to go directly to the hospital. In any case, I got to spend time with a group of remarkable kids. Unfortunately, all, if not most, of them suffer from cancer. It's such a shame that a debilitating disease as cancer, in a way, deprives those children of a handful of amazing possibilities.
Their visit proved not only fun for them but for me as well. Aside from posing for pictures, we had a chance to discuss the current movie that I'm filming, the costume of which I wore to the visit, complete with the eyeglasses! Not to mention, we also talked about The Faculty as some of the kids happen to like that particular film. Then there was a young girl who promised that she'd give me a list of all the Czech performers she knows, in contribution to my ever expanding CD collection. I thought that was very sweet of her to offer.
Overall, it was quite an experience I'd never forget. Wish I could have been able to go to them rather than have them come to me on set. At least, when I showed them around, especially on how movies are shot, they seemed pleased at the new information. I wish all of them well.
