Update: Sleepy days and getting settled.

Hey all.

Firstly, go read The Last Leg of The Journey, by my lovely husband and brand-spanking-new-LJ-addict, sfindep. (He nearly missed the dump today because he was reading his flist, but I think knowing I'd tattle on him to MY flist, he went. Hee. Peer pressure, dude. Gotta love it.) Lo, for I am using his computer and he doesn't have an LJ client, here's the raw link. http://www.livejournal.com/users/sfindep/2325.html?view=11285#t11285

Yesterday, I took lostgirlslair and mrtwstedwhsprs down the hill to Greenfield and to a lovely discount shoe store with really good shoes (Good sneaks, Dansko, Birkenstock, etc. All the Nouveau Hippie crowd and hiking crowd and river rafting crowd could hope for in footwear.) They found some good walking shoes for themselves, which they promptly put on - both of them having become really tired of the shoes of escape they'd been wearing for the last...what, nearly three weeks? The Fiance's shoes were literally falling apart.

One mode of transportation taken care of, they're thinking about purchasing bicycles to get around our village, and we need to find them one of those cool, tall, wheeled carts for them to cart groceries and laundry and such. I'm hoping that the Red Cross will be able to help smooth the way to perhaps helping them get a new(er) vehicle, which will be key for getting higher-paid work, especially the job in Greenfield that is a potential place for LG. As a former personnel rep for a temp agency, I'm already thinking about Interview Outfits and suchlike. Their meeting with the Red Cross is Thursday. Think good thoughts!

We had a lovely, relaxed dinner at our house while TF enjoyed his ritual of Monday Night Football. LG hopped on Jeff's computer to check her flist. ("Innnnnternettttt," she crooned.) It was not like an evening with guests that you were having over for the first time. During the course of the evening, we puttered around doing our own personal chores and visiting and stuff. It was very relaxing.

LG just called and she and TF are going to walk around town and get online at one of the coffee shops and maybe have a picnic by the river. Sounds nice. My husband and I are lolling about, snoozing and eating leftovers from last night and checking our flists. Nice lazy day.
