Someone nominated Wickedfox and me for a Shades of Gray Award (SOGA) for outstanding contributions to fandom for the_fund. Who ever it was, thank you so much. I was really touched.
We may have started it, but it absolutely has been a community effort, and you guys that made it work, and prosper, and soar.

What we've accomplished RL side today:
Rented lostgirlslair and mrtwstedwhsprs a lovely apartment, about two minutes away from my house. They'll be walking walking distance of town, and on the local busline. (We still owe $850 for the last month's rent, but I'm hoping either coming checks or the Red Cross will help them.)
Been offered a sofa, a dining room table and four chairs and we have a lead on other furniture.
Priced mattresses (it's illegal in MA to sell them second hand) Luckily, the local furniture store has them on sale.
They're incredibly frustrated with bureaucratic red tape right now, and ready to get OUT of there. Keep them in your good thoughts for speedy - but not too speedy so I can get the apartment ready - travels.
And don't forget to send pictures of yourselves for the memory book
