Wolverine and the X-men trailer

You've got to be kidding me.

Okay. First, that was gorgeous animation. I'll give it that. And it's good voice acting. And Kitty is on the team, which is a plus, even if Storm doesn't seem to be (at least, not after the initial attack). And I guess it's neat that there were cameos of new characters like Dust and such? But that's about all the good I can say about that because, uhhhh:

  1. I kind of hate Wolverine most of the time. I just can't stand the character. Like I like him fine as kind of a side character that is kind of in the background... but.... ew. You know what's really annoying, too? The weird inconsistent Wolverine you find in the third film and in this where he's like half boy scout and half Mr. Wannabe Tough Guy.

  2. What killed me was Scott waking up to Wolverine's claws (HELLO, MR. WANNABE-TOUGH-GUY)... so that Wolverine could ask if Scott would come save Xavier (HELLO, MR. BOY SCOUT)! I mean just... WHAT THE CRAP? And then later on Xavier telling them that Wolverine was the one to lead them. That's... just... wow. I have no words for that.

  3. I am kind of repeating myself, but, uh, GUYS. WOLVERINE DOES NOT MAKE A GOOD LEADER.

  4. Overall, way too much like the horribly cheesy 90's X-men, and not enough like the second-greatest-cartoon-ever that is X-men: Evolution. ARGH.

  5. LOL at Ororo's hair.
And yet I'll watch it anyway. *Sigh* When is this coming on Nicktoons? Next year?

Semi-relatedly, I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to watch an X-men where Storm was the leader instead of Cyclops. You know, like she was in the comics for a while. Fat chance of that ever happening, though.

marvel, x-men
