YOU GUYS. TONIGHT.
TONIGHT. IT'S... IT'S THURSDAY NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT. SFDDSKJFSDJK so excited!
Also, in other news: I got Super Smash Brawl the other week! But I haven't posted my Friend Code because my Wii isn't cooperating with the new wireless internet, and I haven't bothered to fix it. but hopefully I will fix it soon, and when I do, I'll post my Friend Code on here so that I can play you good people online.
Current favorite characters:
- Zelda: forever and always. And I am SO glad that they buffed her for Brawl (the hitbox on Din's Fire, for one thing).
- Zero Suit Samus: currently, ZSamus fits my combat style like... to the T. Great ninja moves, great weapons, and man is she fast.
- King Dedede: I'm very surprised by his presence on this list... but I'm getting the hang of him and he's a lot of fun. I still haven't got a hang of his chaingrabs, yet, though. Here's the story about why he's on this list, by the way. It's because I can't stand the Fire Emblem characters (Marth, Roy, and Ike); something about their aesthetic just annoys the crap out of me (actually, Ike would be fine if he didn't have blue hair). Call me shallow or whatever, but I'm just a very aesthetically oriented person and so aesthetics is very much a part of games to me. So anyway, one of my rl friends is really annoyed by the fact that they added 2 Kirby characters to the game. So, we made a silly little agreement: I wouldn't use Meta Knight when playing them, and they wouldn't use Ike. And then I would only play as the other new Kirby character (King Dedede) if they used Marth (which would hopefully be rare). And at the time, I lost horribly as the big D. But through people using Marth, and through me practicing with him, I can see that the big penguin is actually a really good character. And not only that, but I dig his aesthetic. BUT, UM, YEAH. THAT IS THE STORY OF HOW MR. D GOT ON THIS LIST.
- Lucario: I can't believe a Pokemon is on this list, but, you know what? He actually looks cool. I feel like the Egyptian death god Anubis, wrecking psy-havoc on mere mortals... mwahahaha. Also, the wall cling is cool, hehe.
- Pit: what can I say? I think his moves look cool, I dig his flight abilities, and he's kind of adorkable as a whole.
- Toon Link: even though Wind Waker isn't my favorite 3-D Zelda, he fits my style better than adult Link. He's small and quick, and he's got a good mix of projectiles and sword attacks (which... uh... so does adult Link). The stylized bomb explosions are neat looking, too.
- Diddy Kong: this little monkey was my second favorite playable character in DK 64 (Tiny Kong was my favorite). I like that he's a little monkey but he moves around really quick and absolutely tears opponents up. And his metagame is shaping up to be interesting and more complicated than anything I could realistically master (e.g. the way he uses bananas).
- Captain Olimar: his unique moveset really spices things up. Also, it's funny to beat opponents with pikmin. : p
I'm still learning with all of these characters, but those are my current favorites.
Characters I'd like to figure out more:
- Fox: I mean... c'mon, foxes are my favorite animals. But I still haven't gotten the hang of him yet.
- Link: I'm having a harder time figuring out Brawl's version of Link. His charging attack doesn't seem that useful anymore, for one thing.
- Sonic: I definitely don't have the hang of him yet.
- Pokemon Trainer: again, I can't believe a Pokemon character is on this list. His big ridiculous anime eyes bother the crap out of me, but you don't have to look at him in battle, and I gotta say that I have fun playing around with Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard. And it adds more variety to even one battle to be able to switch between the combatants like that.
...I'm also known to play as Wolf, Ganondorf, Meta Knight (but not against my friend, haha), Peach, and Wario.
Characters I regret not making the roster:
- Tails: Tails > Sonic
- K. Rool: the DK villain would've been nice.
...My fantasy never-gonna-happen wish list also includes like all the DK 64 Kongs and a Majora's Mask character or two, BUT... WHAT CAN I SAY?
ANYWAY. BRAWL IS AWESOME IN EVERY POSSIBLY WAY AND I CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY YOU GUYS ONLINE!!
