Pigs in the Corn
I cant believe its been a month and a half since I last LJed. Life just flies by fast. Really wanted to update last night, but after putting in a 14 hour day I just showered and went to bed.
Yesterday started off odd, and just sort of dragged on. Rolled into the Sow Barn around 7:20am and was promptly stopped by Charlie, one of the guys who lives at the other barn up the road, he tells me to follow him, and I do, going about 120km down County Rd 7. I figure there must be some kind of big emergency since he's travelling so fast. We pull into their house, and I see what's really going on. About 200 pigs broke out of one of the bio-techs, and were promptly tearing through the gardens and had made their way into the corn. Myself and 7 others then spent the better part of an hour and a half chasing these pigs back into the barn. Chasing pigs, through corn that had to be 9 feet high at that, first thing in the morning, is not by idea of a fun time. Corn was so thick that you couldnt even see them, you had to stop every ten feet or so and just sit quietly and hope they would make a sound, then off again towards the noise.
Life has picked up a little as of late, Karen's bon-fire was good times, and went out with Tama and Erin suit shopping on Sun, see Tama's antry on oceanvagabond for a full report. Sorry dont know how to link yet.
AJ's wedding is less then two weeks away, clock is ticking on that one.
Taking a road-trip down to St Kitts on Sat, it should be good times, provided that there are people around to visit with. Will only be in town for a handful of hours, I'm thinking 2-7 or so. Anyway, must be off. See some of you soon.
