This was such a beautiful story -- very fitting for one of my fave Sarah songs. <333 Their interaction was so moving and real ... one of my favorite exchanges:

“Is Harry still alive?” she asked quietly, keeping her face firmly fixed to the wall.

He ignored the little twist of jealousy inside him. “Yes.”

It's all too believable that their relationship would turn out exactly like this ... with Draco proving himself worthy, but in doing so, losing what he wants. Really nice job.

Also, now that I know which recipe was yours -- the cake was awesome! Of course, I live by myself, so I had to take it into work to share the wealth. :D

Your story was very poingent. I found myself smiling throughout the beginning and was pleasantly surprised to see that Draco was determined and adept at making what would amount to be a most exquisite confection. It's only fitting that he make the best. Towards the end, I was sad to see that it didn't work out for Ginny and Draco...it was bittersweet..on the one hand, I wanted them both to be happy with one another, on the other, I was completely satisfied with the hopelessness of it all. Well done!

I completely adored this story. It reminded me of an old school X-Files story, set post-colonization, and the juxtaposition of Draco preparing a perfect sweet treat and the inevitable heartbreak you reveal at the end works very, very well. And I'm always a sucker for Sarah McLachlan songs used well, and this is one of my favorites.

Plus, you know -- Love Goddess Cake. YUM.

A good-cook Draco!! I like it!
An unhappy ending!! I like it a little less but that one was amazing
Did I told you I was suppose to be on a diet? And you talk about chocolate and ganache cream! Just by reading the recipe I'm sure I took 4 pounds.

I like this. It's dark... angsty... My favorites. :)
Doesn't have a happy ending but happy endings don't always guarantee a wonderful story. This story is great and I liked the way the baking steps were incorporated into the text. :)
