Well, I made it through another one. I never thought that just two years after the first one I would be saying that. I figured I would have to wait at least 30 more years to have my second heart attack. Oh well, I guess I can say that I'm part of an odd club now at least. 36 and two attacks. you know, you can tell me to quit the smoking all you want, but i will always contend that the anti smoking propagandists out there are completely full of shit when they talk of ALL those people who die from cigarettes smoking. when the actual numbers are more into the 1.4% of the population (including the second hand smokers) actually die from ANYTHING related to smoking. if you ask me, thats a real small number of people who are actually affected compared to the number of FAT ASS related diseases that are constantly being under reported. more people die because they dont know how to eat properly or just dont want to than all of the deaths combined from smokers.

but that is neither here nor there because 3 weeks before all of this happened i had actually started taking Chantix, that new stop smoking drug. I havent actually finished the meds yet and i still havent had a cigarette in a week and a half and have not even desired one.

i find it to be in some sort of denial to automatically assume or make the jump that smoking IS what caused the entire ordeal. in MY cases, both times, it was linked to the high fever i carried for a few days (101-103) which caused a swelling and/or inflammation of my heart. the fever this time was brought on by a bad case of pneumonia which was most likely brought on by the fact that once i STOPPED smoking my lungs failed to push up some of the crap in them. anyway...we can argue the merits of smoking later...for now though i a no longer a smoker and i am still alive from the attack
