Connections
I've been trying to come up with a backstory for Tathariel (formerly Tahanah). Female druids are kind of tricky to make stories for, because really they shouldn't exist at all, or at least they shouldn't before the past several years. She has a military rank too, which means that she's had to have some contact with the Alliance. My rough idea is that she was a Sentinel who joined up with the Alliance -- though I'm not sure during which conflict, and that she began to study druidism after her father passed away, to follow in his footsteps. I know that's a bit similar to Vass's story, but it would explain why she began studying the druid's path.
But, I also see a tempting possibility with Ornasse. It would require some retconning, but she could be his daughter -- though he's alive, so I'd have to come up with a new reason for her to start learning to be a druid. I guess I could set his story with Naeva further in the past, and maybe she's changed as her way of rebelling against him, I dunno.
Just some thoughts.
I am supposed to RP Harrier tonight, I promised my guildie. They're fun, but it's more fun when Harrier has someone to wing-man for him ;)
Edit: All right, after some mulling over I am going with that. I'm pushing back O's story a bit chronologically, so Tathariel can be an obnoxious rebellious elf-teenager at a couple hundred years old. Ornasse was tasked with raising her -- not sure what became of her mother, I'll try to talk to her player about it. There's next to zero chance she'll ever move servers, so she might be ok with coming up with an alternate story. O was a bit strict and overbearing when he was present, but largely absent because of his druidic duties. Tathariel trained as a Sentinel, specializing in tracking. When relations with the Alliance opened up, she embraced the strangers whom her father disparaged, earning a meager military rank (and meeting Idrian, a rogue). And more recently she has begun to learn the druid's path, further infuriating her father who holds to the ancient traditions. Her skills in the woods have served her well, and Tathariel is a quick learner.
