I reported a crime to the London Met Police and it went something like this:
I was walking home Pakeman Street a few minutes away and was on my way home from my friends home after pulling all nighter completing assignments for Uni. I usually take the past Seven Sisters Road into Sussex Way down to Whewell Road. As I cross Seven Sisters Road I noticed not a lot of people on the street because of the early time. I saw a guy in the distance on Seven Sisters Road smoking and walking kind of stumbling (probably under the influence of something). I went into Sussex Way and notice the guy went into the street turn too. I noticed he was following me so I slowed down to let him pass cause I didn't want to make a commotion in case anything and to let him pass. Instead he came up to me and demanded my handbag. Note that I had my handbag slinged on my shoulder underneath the straps of my laptop bag so when he pulled for the bag it was a struggle. Everything happened so fast and I remember pulling my handbag away from him and screaming to tell him to 'get the f*ck away'. He threatened he's 'f*ckin kill me' if I didn't give my bag but I still kept screaming for help and at this point I was on the ground trying to kick him. Eventually some people looked out their window to see what was happening and they started yelling 'hey!' and eventually my attacker bolted and walked back towards Seven Sisters Road. I ran back home (about 5 minutes down the street) . I noticed a couple peering from their window - they were the ones that yelled 'hey' to see what was going on. I told them that some guy try to rob me and ran home. I didn't know what to do. Nothing was taken from me, only a few strands of hair pulled out from my head and a rip in my handbag. Of course the feeling I'm not safe in my own neighbourhood. Note the time was around 5:30 a.m. and it was perfectly light out so I thought it would be okay to go home, plus I was sure people would be out going for a morning jog or something like that. Anyway, I thought I should report this. As for the attacker, he had a jacket/hood on. Jeans. White male in his late 30s, medium build, yellow teeth. Appeared to be under the influence of something (drugs presumably cause I didn't smell any alcohol on him). Note I also tried to burn him with my cigarette when he tried to attack me so he may or may not have a burn mark on his face.
Coincidentally a few weeks earlier, on that same road (Sussex Way) - I was walking home around midnight and some guy comes up from behind me and grasps my butt. When I turned around and confronted him - he had the cheek to ask if he could do it again. Thankfully there was a guy up the block from me walking his dog and he turned around when I yelled at that guy.
My body is aching today from the struggle. And I have a major assignment due this Friday which I am only starting now. Only a few more days and next week I'm going to BRIIIIIIIIIIIIGHTON.
